Truth #1: Internet Marketers use the word “scam” to get your attention.
1 million people search the Internet daily for a home-based business opportunity.

• Internet marketers know that keywords are the ticket to being found in those Google searches.
• People doing their due diligence on a home based business, immediately jump online, do a quick search of “company” name plus the word “scam.”
• Which means, there are a lot of people searching online for the phrase “Company Scam”.
• Shrewd marketers know this and then, “bait and switch” you with their marketing message.

Don’t believe me? Just skip to the end of any of the search results for “SendOutCards scam”. I’ll bet 99% refute the scam issue and offer to be your sponsor instead.

Truth #2: The BBB and the FTC keep track of scams.

Things change fast online. Check with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to find out if there’s proof of a SendOutCards scam. After all, it’s their job to regulate commerce and make sure everyone plays by the rules.

Both the BBB and the FTC keep track of any complaints filed against any companies and they keep a running list of the bad guys (in the U.S.). On the flip side, if someone does file a complaint, the watchdogs will provide a history of the complaint and whether or not it was resolved.

Then, you be the judge.

Truth #3: Not everything in life is fair.

When I say “used car salesman”, you say “sleazy”; when I say “MLM”, you say “scam”.

It’s very unfortunate but generally, it’s what people think.

The good news is… As Google cracks down on “how” people market online, and the FTC/BBB continue to track-down the sleazy culprits, then the scam reputation of home-based businesses will fade away. It’s already happening, it’s known as the “Google slap”. Basically,

Google just eliminates anyone from their search results that they think is unethical. Game over online.

So, the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about SendOutCards scams?

There’s no such thing as get-rich-quick.

People who treat their business like a business; understand that it does take money to make money; and put a lot of effort and tenacity into their venture; succeed. There’s proof of these people in every single MLM opportunity.

• Stick with your new business at least a year
• Put your initial earnings back into it
• And never say “quit.”

Why Read This Review?

I believe there is a HUGE untapped potential with this company and at the end of this review I reveal why.

My goal here is to present you with the facts so you can make a decision about starting your MLM business. I have nothing to do with this company, I am NOT a distributor or an employee of SendOutCards. I’m a business expert from the school of hard knocks as well as a traditional MBA – with over 2 decades entrepreneurial experience in various businesses, primarily start-ups.

Regardless of the business you choose, expect to spend a considerable amount of time, effort and money getting your business up and running. I coach many people in the MLM industry and I’ve experienced and witnessed first hand what it takes to breakthrough. Those who are successful have the tenacity and mindset of an entrepreneur, from day 1. “Quit” is not in their vocabulary.

Pros & Cons Summary:

This is a company in good standing, loved by its distributors, with products that have little competition and an excellent comp plan with huge potential for financial success. See "Untapped Goldmine" at the end of this article.

Explanation of Pros & Cons

The Reputation

A quick Google search on both SendOutCards and Kody Bateman (CEO) didn’t reveal any shocking or disheartening news. Overall, Blog information appeared very positive. MLMs tend to have a reputation of “get-rich-quick” and occasionally, because of this, a trail of disillusioned people. Not so with this company, indicating the leaders are positioning this opportunity properly.

A quick check with both the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) – at the time of this writing – revealed no complaints.

Years In Business

Ninety percent of most businesses fail their first year. So, a little longevity, especially for an MLM or Network Marketing company, will make your new business opportunity a safer bet. SendOutCards has made it past the five-year mark which proves they’ve handled their initial growing pains and are solid. They were founded in 2004.

Management

Kody Bateman, CEO of SendOutCards is on a mission to build a billion-dollar greeting cards company. His trigger for starting this business is a heartfelt story. His brother had been killed in a tragic electrical accident immediately after Kody had left home for his first job, following college. Kody hadn’t really taken the time to say goodbye and then it was too late. That’s when it all started.

A Google search didn’t reveal much information about Mr. Bateman’s business experience, and the corporate website wasn’t much more informative – which is always a concern considering leadership is such a critical component of a company’s success. It appears Mr. Bateman began the business right out of college, with little corporate experience. While the company IS thriving, I’d prefer to see a more experienced management team.

Financial Stability

At the time of this writing, the company is debt free.

Products

IF you like the product, chances are your customers will, too. This is especially important with MLMs and Network Marketing companies. Personally, I love the concept of SendOutCards: an online hub that makes it simple and convenient to select a printed greeting card, have it stuffed into an envelope, stamped and sent in the mail on your behalf.

Also included is an online contact manager and a reminder system, all for the price of your card. PLUS – printed with your handwritten signature, and you can upload your own images for full customization making it as easy to send a greeting as it is to send an email. Who wouldn’t like that?

Competition

Greeting cards comprise a billion dollar industry. Hallmark and American Greetings are each 3-ton gorillas – but, SendOutCards has a unique delivery and distribution model, and the Network Marketing distinction puts them in a unique category. A huge advantage is that there really are no competitors in this (MLM) space. First to market is always an advantage.

Compensation Plan

The company offers a front-end compensation plan, otherwise known as direct sales, with decent commissions, fast. I’m a big believer in this type of comp plan because it offers GPT (Get Paid Today). This is important because cash flow is critical for you and your team members as you start your business. This allows faster cash flow and keeps you “in money” as you grow your revenues.

They also have a back-end compensation plan, which generates a residual income so you make money even when you’re “not working.” Always a plus.

The key here, as with all home-based businesses is getting enough people to take a look at your plan, daily, to get critical mass. To be successful, you want to be signing up one new member every single day.

Here’s how it works:

1.    First, You become a customer

2.    Then, You decide to participate in comp plan and encourage others to become a customer by offering a free gift account. (Great incentive!)

7 levels of compensation:

1. Customer Direct Sales Profits: People purchase an annual pre-paid greeting card account used to purchase the cards and stamps.

2. Retail profits from Preferred customers (paid monthly). This pays volume commissions.

3. Wholesale Packages – $298 including a coaching session from you. You get $120 bonus, paid after coaching is completed (paid weekly basis).

4. Entrepreneur Pkg Plus – $398 same as above but includes coaching done in your downline, where you can receive a bonus from $15 to $50 per coaching session. (paid weekly).

5. Treat em Right Seminar Bonus (paid weekly) You will receive a bonus when reps in your group attend this seminar. The bonus ranges from $5 to $30 per attendee.

6. 7-level Volume Bonus: paid on the greeting cards that are sold in your entire group (paid monthly).

7. Leadership Volume Bonus: paid on greeting cards sold on unlimited levels within your group. Commissions of 5% to 25%, depending on ranks of leadership.

Leadership

Always look at the leadership or the top producers in any MLM organization. Sit in on one of their trainings. Interview them if you can.

How do they market and train their team? This is a critical component of how quickly you will start making money. You want to look for a “blueprint”, or a “system” that will get you started step-by-step.

The only downside, that I see, is the top producers are old school marketers: utilizing the 3-foot rule, and the friends and family list of warm contacts all pointed towards hotel or home meetings. This type of marketing requires a huge sphere of influence to achieve any kind of success. Remember, you need a lot of people looking at your opportunity daily, in order to reach the goal of one new sign-up per day.

Training

Like most MLM companies, this company also offers system training and recorded webinars and plugs distributors into EFTBN (Eagles Flight Team Building Network) and various other mindset types of education, which are great. However, SendOutCards is not training on Internet Marketing, which for today’s MLM distributors, is a fatal mistake.

Internet Marketing will allow you to generate 50 to 100 leads per day. That’s actually, several hundred people per day, looking at your opportunity. You’d have a really tough time, personally finding and talking to that many people every single day and that’s the value of leveraging the Internet. People will actually flock to YOU.

I see this with a lot of MLM companies. They pitch the “old school” style of marketing and it’s the #1 reason people fail: chasing prospects and attempting to convince them that they want your offering. It requires talking to anybody within 3-feet to reach those critical numbers. Believe me, I know – I’ve done it. Pretty soon your friends, family and neighbors – even the mailman – is avoiding you!

It’s the biggest opportunity for distributors.

SendOutCards.com’s online hub makes sending an old-fashioned greeting card through the mail, as easy as hitting “send” on an email. No wonder entrepreneurs are rushing to sign-up as new Network Marketing distributors: they-smell-money.

What baffles me about this company is why an Internet business uses “old school” methods to market their products:  the “3-foot” rule; friends and family approach; warm market pointed to a home meeting. Wouldn’t you rather have 50 to 100 leads per day coming to you and asking you to sign them up?

So, what would a young Bill Gates do? He’d use the Internet, of course!

SendOutCards 10-Step System For Global Domination:

Step #1: Use A Search-Engine-Loving-Blog As Your Website. Google loves Blogs so Blogs improve your chances of being found within search results. And, Blog’s are really easy to set up. When you place information on your Blog, Google comes along and “catalogs” it. As people search online, Google gives them a little teaser of your information. To read the rest of the info, they must click over to your Blog.

That’s how you drive traffic!

Step #2: Repeat After Me, “I Am An Educator, NOT A Solicitor.” People hate being sold but they love information. Put that valuable information on the Internet – the same information you speak with prospects about today. You don’t actually have to speak to every prospect instead, they help themselves to your information and if they’re interested, contact you.

Step #3: Get “Prospect Bait” By Setting Alerts In Google. Google allows you to setup alerts within your Google account by requesting specific information be sent to you. Relevant info is most likely interesting to your prospects, too. When the alerts are sent to your email box, read them, educate yourself and rewrite or repost (with credit of course) to your Blog. Then, steps 1 and 2 kick in.

Step #4: Attract People To Your Site – On FaceBook. Did you know FaceBook now gets more searches than Yahoo? Post your Blog URL (link) on your FaceBook page, casually offer tips about your business (remember never sell) make friends and they’ll want to know (do business with) you.

I guarantee you this beats house parties, any night.

Step #5: Put FaceBook On AutoPilot By Using Twitter. Set up a Twitter account and choose to have all of your “tweets” go instantaneously to your FaceBook wall. Now, post through Twitter. As people follow you on Twitter, invite them to FaceBook. On FaceBook, all of your friends get to see your Tweets.

Kill two birds, with one tweet.

Step #6: Copy & Paste Website Opt-in Form To Capture Leads. AWeber has an awesome service that allows you to easily capture people’s names, email, and phone number when they visit your site. Simply, copy and paste the Aweber opt-in form to your blog pages. Voila – you’re building a list of prospects who’ve actually “raised” their hand and asked you for more information about your business.

Now, when people opt-in to your Blog, search for their email address on FaceBook and invite them to be friends.

Step #7: “Drip” On Your Leads While Sleeping At Night. Now that people have given you their permission and asked for more info – give it to ‘em. Draft sequential emails with a more information about your business. Always include your website and contact information. Then, setup the email to automatically go out every few days.

Write at least a weeks’ worth of email – most people are “dripped on” 7 times before they buy.

Step #8: Hot Prospects Have Visited Your Site And Want To Talk To You: CALL THEM! The key here is to get people to talk about themselves. Connect. Ask them a lot of questions about them and why they are looking for a business. Then, help them to decide the next steps best suited for their needs. Remember – no selling!

Step #9: Check Sales Online. You probably already do this – I like to do this during lunch, or as I come out of a matinee, or maybe as I’m waiting to have coffee with a girlfriend in the morning. Makes me feel great when I see sales have come in while I was doing something else.

Step #10: Repeat Steps 3 – 9, Daily.

Congratulations! In less than A Couple Of Hours, You’ve just created a Marketing System.

The Internet “new school” marketing actually attracts people to you vs. “old school” of chasing people down and convincing them that you have the answers. Millions of people, today alone, are on the Internet searching for a way to make more money at home.

Why wouldn’t you want to be in the search results in front of millions daily?

Internet systems can generate 50 to 100 leads per day. Having a system in place, will help you grow a team because your team can simply plug-in and model what you’re doing.
